Wait for the Flash
From an earlier season · raw & unedited
Have we become perpetually posed?
Will we never flow?
Wait for the flash.
Memories stored in the cache.
Who needs a mind in a society thats blind?
How could we see with our thoughts in a bind.
How can we feel with our eyes on a reel.
Lost in ideals and constant cheap thrills.
Stars on the screen equals posers on scene.
Are we perpetually posed?
When will we break and live life like a flow?
Wait for the flash.
Memories are cheap, they are gone in a dash.
"Not so" we may say, "if we capture the day!"
Wait for the flash.
Memories are stored in the cache.
Might we break free in heart and in mind?
Or is this the end? Is there no way to find?
A trap door, an escape, from this lesser ape.
Desires unleashed and imagination confined.
We stare at the tube, so goes all mankind.
Are we perpetually posed?
Lifes lived when were free to break senseless molds.
When will we breath and live life in a flow?
Stare at the lens, to its single monotonous eye your drawn in.
Wait for the flash!
There is no looking back.
Lifes cought on the cache.
Another camera comes out of the bag.
Wait for the flash!
Life is stored in the cache.
I just want to make it known that I don't think there is anything wrong with photography BTW. This note is meant to represent a "state of mind" moreso than the actual act. It is about being cought up in a media driven society that dictates to us how to think through the arts of television, music, and photography. I love taking / being in photos. It is when we idolize this process, that the trouble begins, in my opinion.
