Live in the Word
From an earlier season · raw & unedited
Anyone who desires life in Christ, I encourage, read this word about his Word. I'll start with his Word, a psalm of life.
Psalms 119:9
9 How can a young man keep his way pure?
By living according to your word.
10 I seek you with all my heart;
do not let me stray from your commands.
11 I have hidden your word in my heart
that I might not sin against you.
12 Praise be to you, O LORD;
teach me your decrees.
13 With my lips I recount
all the laws that come from your mouth.
14 I rejoice in following your statutes
as one rejoices in great riches.
15 I meditate on your precepts
and consider your ways.
16 I delight in your decrees;
I will not neglect your word.
The Word of God has had a profound impact on my life, but the ironic thing is that I find its impact is more like a living growing thing as opposed to an instant shot like you might get from a caffein pill. Don't take me wrong, there are times in life when I open the Word and have it instantly impact my life, especially the psalms...and I am sure that it has such purpose as there is a time for everything. How can a young man keep his way pure? By living according to the Word.
But the Word was meant to be so much more than a simple feel-good book that we could go to for a temporary infusion of encouragement. The Word of God is a living word, and when we read it daily with both a desire to learn and a will to live it out we will find that it implants itself deeply within our subconscious mind, and writes itself on our hearts. Then as if by some chance we will find that it has the opportunity to arise when we need it the most, or when we stand to finally learn the truth of the particular teaching. This for me, is the point that it becomes a Living Word. In these moments, I find a joy in knowing that God has sprouted inside of me not just the knowledge of his word, but what makes it Life! And we know that Life is worth more than knowledge. Then, a peace overcomes you, as you realize the great gift you have recieved in not only knowing the truth, but seeing its life. Study the verses again above, my experiance in life was foretold by it, it became real to me.
Its the truth, told again. Jesus was the Living Word, he was literally the embodiment of the greatest Truth that lives. This has deep metaphorical, spiritual, and other implications that I know I will spend my life trying to grasp.
I cannot encourage my brothers and sisters enough to go into the Word, and then to go into the world, and watch as a situation will arise in which you can and will see the Word of God pierce through the deception and the fasle-wisdom of the world in Glorious revealation. At this point, the deeper life and truth of the Word can be revealed to you. Such verses we took as simple and short then become much greater than human words. To understand the implications of these verses is a matter of life, and I believe it transcends words. There is literally no amount of words that can contain the true life and nature of God, and I am gracious as such. Yet, a perfect description of the world has been given to us through the Word, so that we might, through being seekers of the truth through faith in Christ turn our eyes in the direction of Jesus, and of God, and the Word, and find that place that transcends words in our hearts.
Now, I could have placed a dozen verses within the context of this writing to support and encourage my viewpoint, but odds are if you are a seeker you have a bible, and its close. If you read his word, and he has written it on your heart, you will see that in many places I have taken Gods Word, reworded it, and simply given it out again, hopeing that my personal testimony might plant a seed that Christ can bring to life. God wants completely for you to seek him personally, to get into his word and discover who he is and how he can change your life. Go and read his book The Word, and watch as it reveals its knowledge and wisdom in life, and then have the words of those pages become Life. You will call it awesome as the Word trancends your words.
I'm focused in my writings on placing my perspective out there for others to see, because I do believe, that even now God works inside of me, and this is my testimony that I seek to give. I know he also works inside of you! I have seen the word come alive, and it has changed me for the betterment of myself, and ultimately for the Glory of God. The same is the destiny of all whom has accepted Christ. If you are at a point in life where you are discouraged or unsure, I greatly encourage you to take my word, and get into The Word. I can promise you with the assurance of the Holy Spirit, that his Word can and will change your life forever, for the better. I'm blessed in knowing, because the experiance has become real to me by the Grace of God, in that his Word is Life, and it becomes Life. To a believer who seeks God and has trouble grasping the word, I ask a simple question. Do you believe in life? If your answer is yes, and I cannot find anyone who can deny that Life is real, than recognize The Word is also just as real, according to himself. As a matter of fact, The Word and Life are ultimately the same thing! So if you believe in life, than you can find it in The Word. So then, whats the secret to life? It surely is to Live in the Word.
Its beautiful to have your eyes opened!
