A Small Acorn

From an earlier season · raw & unedited
From the moment of its existence, a small acorn fathered by life becomes immersed in all creation. It has some innate drive that pulls it towards the fire, towards the life called light given by the sun. This drive it questions not. Given time, and patience, the small acorn emphatically becomes what it was meant to be. The only requirement? It simply must exist, it simply must be, it simply must have faith. Can It change its place? Has it not been sowed in earth and now must wait for life itself to move it forward? Can it change the weather and call unto itself a life-giving water? It cannot do these things, yet it will grow toward the absolute source of energy, it will survive and thrive if planted in the right place. What a profound lesson that is provided by a small acorn. A small acorn seems to have more faith than our human race. We float at sea. We deny what is given us from above, when all we need to do is learn to be, learn to live, and to have faith for all will be provided....and the day will come when we might look up, and see our source of life, our father, smiling down upon us...this is when we grow. We lose ourselves and the father brings us life. God is Love in Christ. The ironic thing about all of this, is as the acorn grows into a large tree, it begins to take in carbon dioxide and give off oxygen. This in turn effects the atmosphere to a small degree, which in turn effects the weather. Its broken limbs and dieing leaves will fall to the ground and become soil for another acorn to find life. The effect of a single tree in this process is near insignificant, but when you have forest upon forest of tall oaks, tempered by life and strong in faith, then the effect on the world around can be profound indeed, so much so that apart from planting itself, the small acorn did in fact through its faith, become responsible for sustaining and encouraging life. If a small acorn can do so much, how much more can one rooted in Christ? Matthew 17:20 I tell you the truth, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there' and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.
