The Birds and the Bees

We have all head of the story of the birds and the bees....here are some fun points to consider. The Birds Birds are generally polygynous in nature, with males often having many female birds at a time. The male birds are known to sing, and dance, and put on flamboyant displays to gain attention from perspective mates. Often they will bring food and provide for their perspective mate. The males will build and nourish nests for their females. Male birds are excellent home/nest providers and often put great a great deal of energy into it. The Bees What we don't teach the kids is there is a single queen behind all those male bee's and they all ultimately keep up with this to serve her. When it does come time to mate, she mates with as many males as she likes, and they will viciously fight over her, many are often killed in this process. The queen is usually the mother of most (and sometimes all) of the offspring in the colony. She's the queen bee, and term finds its strength in pop culture because it finds its reality in the the actual creature bee. Observations In Genesis 1, the birds are given the commandment to "be fruitful and multiply", just like the man. Given that God's Words are declarative and binding, we might expect to learn a few things about "fruitfulness" and "multiplication" from them since they inherited the same blessing and are not necessarily inclined towards rebellion or religious ignorance. This clearly isn't enough in and of itself to prove anything, but it is significant that the blessing of fruitful multiplication is given twice in Genesis 1.
