Step Out in Faith
From an earlier season · raw & unedited
Well, it's long, but God put it on my heart, so i'll post it. Don't know if anyone will read it, but I send it out.
Because I have been created in the image of God, because Christ Jesus lives in my soul and gives me a new heart, and because I desire to accomplish my place in God's story I write. I write to bring the Hope of God to the world, I write because Christ becomes me in my surrender. I write for the saints, and I write for the sinners. May my pen flow to glorify God and tell of his piercing love and his absolute word. I write bgecause I am the enemy of Satan, because I hate evil and what it does to this world.
Christ, our loving creator, is and always will be in his love, we must make this a solid belief. I had a athiest friend tell me one time..."You can't believe your God into existence", in which I replied, "I am thankful I don't have to". Remeber when Jesus told Peter "Oh ye of little faith". Peter, having watched Jesus walk on water found faith to do the same in emulating his master, yet his faith was short-lived. The is Peter, whom we know walked with Jesus, whom talked with Jesus in person, and even his faith waivered. This is one reason why we should be thankful for who God is, for if even the deciples faith waivered, ours will surely also. Yet move forward in hope when your faith seems tested, and watch as God reveals himself to you again. We are too "abide in Faith, Hope, and Love" until that Glorious day when God calls us home. King David sure knew when to hold onto hope, read the psalms, its all over.
Now it has become clear that in these times when we are tested we are to take courage. Does this stir your soul? Does this arouse a fear of the unknown in you? Look at what Jesus said before Peter followed him onto the water, "Take Courage, for it is I". Courage is a precurser for faith. Courage is that mighty step out of hope and into faith. Courage is aroused by our hearts true passion which is only found in Christ. It is a mighty spark that calls us to action. Courage exists in that place where the knowledge of the Holy one moves us in reckless abandonment. It is our strong confidence.
Ive got a revalation for you. God is in front of you, looking you in the eyes right now, telling you, to take courage, and step his direction.
I know that there are decisions in life we have to make that are large and intimidating. Who to date, college, jobs, missions...the list goes on and on. They can seem so overwhelming, but remember, God withholds nothing good from those who love him, from those who fear his name. He calls to us to "Awake" and "Arise".
Do not cower in your past, God has placed something beautiful in front of you, he has placed something in front of you that calls for your attention. His voice says "Take courage, for it is I" You must heed this call for his goodness sake. What a travesty would exist if we stood still and did nothing. Take a look at John's letter to the churches. Some were cold before God, they lacked severely, some were hot, and were on fire. Yet to the Church of Laodicia God says "I know your deeds, that you are neither hot or cold, I wish that you were Hot or Cold" What God want's, is for us to pick sides, and make decisions that lead us to him.
Rest assured, you have something beautiful in front of you. Something that will surely challange you, but upon completion will always lead to the love of God. I ask you to go deeper withen yourself, and you will find two great motivators. A duality of fear. One will be the ungodly fear, based on your place in existence and the wounds you have been dealt. It will tell you, wait, don't move, because you can't be sure, look at your experiances, they have lead you to destruction before...and they will again. No matter what your words are, no matter what satan tells you, you will know them because they are of doubt and insecurity. Do not listen to such things!
The other, the greatest, will be revalation. It will be a fear far greater than that of the latter. It will be like, if you don't act, if you dont move, you could lose your heart, your passion. It will be awesome. Find that passionate freedom, and grasp it, and fly with it. Mount with your given wings and soar. Take that step from hope into faith, and know that it will lead you home, lead you to love. Do not let your past have you fear it, for only the fear of the Lord is righteous.
Can't you see the goodness of God? Why then do you question? Ask yourself, is God working here? Ask God, what am I to do, where am I to take a step of faith in courage, for your Glory and good.
He knows you have been hurt, he was with you, but he also knows what he has for you, plans for prosperity, for a new hope. He sees that you have been scarred by hypocricy, he sees that you have been wounded at in your heart by the enemy, but as long as you cower on the backlines tending to your wounds, you will never heal, you will never discover the truth of who you are and where you are from. You might miss the great things he has for you!
Perhaps you have strong convictions about your place before God....he must want me here, because here I am safe from pain, from attack, here on the backlines where risk dies and passion doesn't exist. That's one of the greatest lies ever told, we are DEAD on the backlines. We will be safe in heaven, and we will find heaven when we are willing to take a risk for Love's sake, because God is Love!
Now, you who are blind, finally see and move forward, because Jesus calls "Take Courage! It is I. Do not be afraid." Cast out your unrighteous fears, that you will fail, that you will be hurt, that your safe where you are, and take that step of faith. Find your heart and see that you are wonderfully and fearfully made in the very image of God. YOU were created in the image of him who casts out all unrighteous fear and replaces it with his awesomeness.
Take that step from hope into faith, and find Love in the process.
