Yeesh · Life — One Door

Common Ground

Genesis 1, 2, and 3 as three layers of one ground — seven grounds in all. Keep a single layer on and walk that chapter alone, every word a seed; open more, and only the words planted in every open layer grow — down to the twelve that run through all three chapters: אָדָם and אֲדָמָה, עֵץ and עֵשֶׂב, חַי, טוֹב, בְּתוֹךְ. The combinations preach: eating enters only with the garden and the fall; the serpent belongs to chapter three alone. Each seed rises in three views (canopy, side-tree with its roots, or the river parted into four heads), carrying every Old-Testament occurrence with the KJV's renderings as leaf tints. Genesis 1's beds are edged in their day's color, Genesis 2:1–3 carries the seventh, and the trees of life in 3:22 and 3:24 keep their mark.
